Duelist

Raze: abilities and tips

Raze is a Brazilian Duelist who plays with explosives: she clears angles and enters sites by launching herself with her packs.

Raze

Playstyle

Raze plays with space: you clear an angle with Paint Shells, send Boom Bot to flush out a defender or gather info, then enter by launching yourself with Blast Pack. Her area damage scares tight positions and grouped enemies, and you punish them without exposing your body. Her tools are loud and predictable, so timing matters more than brute force. On defense, she is used to dislodge an opponent from a corner and to reposition fast with the pack.

Abilities

Key CBasic

Boom Bot

300 credits · 1 charge

You deploy a robot that rolls in a straight line and bounces off walls. If it detects an opponent in its forward cone, it chases them and explodes on contact, dealing heavy damage. You can also use it to scout positions.

Key numbers

  • Duration: 5 s
  • Robot HP: 60
  • Damage: 30 to 80
  • Send it before entering a site: it reveals positions or forces the opponent to move.
  • Stay ready to shoot behind it, because an opponent who destroys it gives away their position.
Key QBasic

Blast Pack

200 credits · 2 charges

You throw a pack that sticks to surfaces. Reactivating it makes it explode: it pushes back everything nearby and damages opponents, once armed. You can use it to launch yourself without hurting yourself in the blast.

Key numbers

  • Arming delay: 1.5 s
  • Duration: 5 s
  • Damage: 20 to 50 once armed
  • Place the pack before you take position: it will send you onto the site in an instant and surprise the standard angles.
  • Avoid setting it off in the open, because its blast can be heard from far away and gives away your position.
Key ESignature

Paint Shells

1 free charge per round · 1 charge

You throw a grenade that releases submunitions on impact. Each one damages everything in its area. Alternate fire lobs it in an arc. You regain the charge every two kills.

Key numbers

  • Damage: 1 to 55
  • One charge comes back every 2 kills
  • Throw it into a tight angle before entering: even a little damage forces the opponent to move.
  • On an eco round, it is your free utility: throw it before taking the angle with a Sheriff.
Key XUltimate

Showstopper

8 ultimate points

You equip a single-shot rocket launcher. The rocket deals big area damage on impact. A direct hit almost always kills, but the equip delay and the noise warn the opponent.

Key numbers

  • Duration: 10 s
  • Equip delay: 1.4 s
  • Damage: 30 to 150
  • Aim at the ground near a group of enemies rather than at a lone target: the area does the damage.
  • Save it for a retake or a round where the enemy is grouped on the site.

Strengths

  • Her area damage clears a corner without you having to show yourself, which punishes static positions.
  • Blast Pack launches you onto a site or toward a flank the opponent isn't watching.
  • Boom Bot is an information and pressure tool that forces opponents to move.
  • Paint Shells is free and recharges every 2 kills: you have a tool to throw even on eco rounds.
  • Showstopper can hit several grouped opponents with a single rocket.

Weaknesses

  • Her utility mostly deals area damage: few kills without a precise shot behind it.
  • The packs are loud and predictable, and an attentive opponent punishes you before your entry.
  • Without a flash or smoke, you peek in the open after throwing your utility.
  • Boom Bot costs 300 credits for a single charge: expensive on a tight budget.
  • Showstopper requires 8 ultimate points and its equip delay (1.4 s) leaves you vulnerable.

Tips

  1. Throw Paint Shells before your peek: the enemy moves, and you take the duel against an opponent who is already hindered.
  2. Practice the timing of your Blast Pack in a custom game so you don't hurt yourself on a fall.
  3. Send Boom Bot before your entry to get a reaction, then follow it with a quick step.
  4. Save Showstopper for a retake or an occupied site, and aim at the ground near the opponents.
  5. After a pack, shoot as soon as you land: one precise headshot matters more than a spray in the air.
  6. On an eco round, play Paint Shells then a Sheriff or a Shorty.

The aim to train

The Road2Radiant benchmark subcategories that matter most here.

  • Static

    Clicking on static targets

After the grenade or the robot, you shoot an opponent coming out of their angle: a flick on a stationary target decides the duel.

    Drills to improve
  • Dynamic

    Clicking on moving targets

When you enter with a pack, you face opponents moving in a mess: tracking a lateral movement saves your round.
