How to improve aim Valorant: pick your skill

The benchmark splits your aim into 4 skills and up to 8 subcategories. Find your weakest one, then open the page that tells you what to play and in what order.

The four skills the benchmark measures

Improving your aim in Valorant is not the same as practicing more. The Road2Radiant benchmark splits your mechanical aim into four skills, each built from its own KovaaK's scenarios.

  • Clicking and flicks: the static and dynamic scenarios. You move the crosshair fast, then click accurately.
  • Tracking: the precise and reactive scenarios. You keep the crosshair glued to a moving target.
  • Target switching: the speed and evasive scenarios. You chain several targets without losing time between two of them.
  • Strafe and counter-strafe: the strafe-click and strafe-track scenarios, measured from the Intermediate level only.

Each subcategory gets its own energy value, so the benchmark shows where your aim lags, not only a global score.

How to choose what to train

You do not pick by gut feeling. You read it in your benchmark.

  1. Take the Novice benchmark: it has 12 scenarios, you play each one in KovaaK's and enter your scores.
  2. Look at the subcategory with the lowest energy. The one far behind the others is the skill to work on.
  3. Open the matching page from the list above: it covers the scenarios, the common mistakes and a sample week.
  4. Pick your intensity: a session lasts 20 minutes, and you can do 1 to 3 per day.

The routine follows the same logic: it puts the subcategories that trail your best one first. You do not choose by hand every day, but you can see why a given exercise keeps coming back.

Strafe needs the Intermediate level: if you are still in Novice, the benchmark does not measure it, and the strafe page tells you how to get there.

To compare your situation with other stuck players, read the page for hardstuck Gold players. For the test itself, open the benchmark; for the daily plan, the routine.

The method: deathmatch and a typical week

The four pages above tell you what to train. Two articles tell you how to organize that work.

  • Deathmatch with a goal: why chaining deathmatches is not enough, and which goal to give each one based on your weakest skill.
  • Weekly aim training plan: the Monday benchmark, each day's sessions and deathmatches, and what changes from one week to the next.

What Road2Radiant does not train

Road2Radiant measures and trains mechanical aim. It does not teach crosshair placement in matches, game sense or utility. A community thread says it bluntly: "Mechanics without theory is useless".

Good aim does not help if you are out of position, and your rank also depends on your team. The benchmark tells you whether your mechanics are improving. It promises no rank.

You play the scenarios in KovaaK's, which is paid on Steam and PC only. To tune your sensitivity before you start, try the free tools, no account needed.
