Gekko

Playstyle

Gekko is an Initiator who gets the most out of his kit by recycling it. Each creature, once expired, leaves a globule you can pick up to relaunch it after a short delay. Dizzy blinds, Wingman disorients and can also plant or defuse the Spike for you, Mosh Pit covers a large area and Thrash holds a group. You play for the team: you open the site with your creatures, let your Duelists enter and collect your globules when the space is safe. In post-plant, Mosh Pit protects the planted Spike. Remember to place your abilities where you'll be able to come back and get them.

Abilities

Key CBasic

Mosh Pit

250 credits · 1 charge

You throw Mosh Pit like a grenade. It multiplies over a large area, deals small continuous damage, then explodes after a short delay. The globule can be picked up to regain a charge, a mechanic added in patch 12.03.

Key numbers

  • Delay before the explosion: 3 s
  • Area damage: 25 (outer) or 50 (center) per tick
  • Globule pickup: 15 s recharge (13.00)
  • Throw it on an angle where you know the enemy holds a position, like the corner of a site or behind the planted Spike.
  • After the explosion, pick up the globule as soon as the zone is safe: you can relaunch Mosh Pit in the same round.
Key QBasic

Wingman

300 credits · 1 charge

You send Wingman after the enemy: it fires a disorienting blast at the first opponent it sees. Aimed at a site or a planted Spike, it can also plant or defuse the Spike. When it expires, it turns back into a globule.

Key numbers

  • Lifetime: 5 s without the Spike
  • Wingman HP: 60
  • Disorient: 2.5 s, 65° cone
  • Globule pickup: 15 s recharge
  • Pick up the Spike at the start of the round and keep Wingman for the plant or the defuse, that's where it is worth the most.
  • Cover it with Mosh Pit or Dizzy while it works: a single shot is enough to stop it.
Key ESignature

Dizzy

1 free charge per round · 1 charge

You send Dizzy into the air. She charges her attack, then fires plasma at the enemies in her field of view, which blinds them. When she expires, she becomes a globule you can pick up.

Key numbers

  • Active duration: 1 s
  • Dizzy HP: 20
  • Blind: 1 s at most
  • Globule pickup: 15 s recharge
  • Throw her high to hit enemies hiding behind cover.
  • Blind before pushing with Wingman: she doesn't blind your teammates.
Key XUltimate

Thrash

8 ultimate points

You bond with Thrash and direct her into enemy territory. When you activate her, she leaps and explodes, which holds players in a small radius. She can be picked up once.

Key numbers

  • Lifetime: 6 s
  • Thrash HP: 180
  • Hold: 6 s in a small radius
  • Can only be picked up once
  • While you direct her, you stay still and vulnerable: ask a teammate to cover you.
  • Save her to hold a grouped team before an execute or a retake.

Strengths

  • Dizzy, Wingman, Mosh Pit and Thrash come back as globules: you regain your charges to replay the action in the same round.
  • Wingman can plant and defuse the Spike for you, which frees your hands and avoids risky duels.
  • Dizzy blinds without hitting her allies: you can set up a push and let your teammates strike at the same time.
  • Mosh Pit covers a large area and protects the planted Spike, which makes the post-plant easier to hold.

Weaknesses

  • To pick up a globule, you have to go to the spot: if the zone isn't safe, you lose the charge.
  • Wingman is fragile: 60 HP, so a shot or an ability that hits it is enough to destroy it in the middle of a plant.
  • While you pilot Thrash, you can't move and you are exposed to enemy fire.
  • Gekko deals little damage outside Mosh Pit: without teammates to finish, your effects rarely kill on their own.

Tips

  1. Take the Spike at the start of the round so Wingman can plant as soon as you've opened the site.
  2. Throw Dizzy high to reach enemies hiding behind cover, then push before her blind (1 s at most) ends.
  3. Pick up your globules as soon as the space is safe: recovered charges are worth free equipment.
  4. Don't play for your kills: your role is to open the site and clear positions.
  5. For aim, train short flicks: after a Dizzy, a blinded enemy stays visible for a moment, and you need to hit them fast.
  6. Plan a fallback angle before picking up: grabbing a globule leaves you vulnerable during the action.

The aim to train

The Road2Radiant benchmark subcategories that matter most here.

  • Static

    Clicking on static targets

After a blind or a disorient, you have little time to land a precise flick on the frozen target.

    Drills to improve
  • Speed

    Fast target switching

When several enemies are hit at the same time, you chain targets quickly before they recover.
